These Terms of Service govern your use of CodeBaobab. By accessing the service or signing in, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
1. The service
CodeBaobab is an educational platform for learning data structures, algorithms, and technical-interview problem solving. It provides lessons, practice problems, an in-browser code runner, and hidden submission checks. Educational content and features may be added, changed, or removed as the service develops.
2. Accounts and access
You may browse learning material without an account. Running tests and submitting solutions require sign-in with an email and password or through GitHub. You are responsible for protecting your password or provider account and for activity performed through your CodeBaobab session. Do not share or misuse another person’s account.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- interfere with the service, evade access controls, or probe it for vulnerabilities without permission;
- use automated traffic in a way that disrupts the service or imposes an unreasonable load;
- introduce malicious code, attempt to access another user’s account, or misuse authentication tokens;
- copy, resell, or redistribute substantial parts of the curriculum except as permitted by law; or
- use CodeBaobab in violation of applicable law or another person’s rights.
4. Your code and learning progress
You retain your rights in code you write. Completed course chapters and accepted problem submissions sync to your signed-in account. Editor drafts, theme, and layout preferences remain stored only in your browser. Code execution and judging occur in the browser, and your submitted source code is not saved to a CodeBaobab backend. Clearing browser storage can remove local drafts and preferences; account progress returns after you sign in again.
5. CodeBaobab content
CodeBaobab and its original lessons, problem sequencing, explanations, interface, branding, and software are protected by intellectual-property laws. Subject to these Terms, you receive a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the service for learning and interview preparation. Third-party problem names or source references remain the property of their respective owners.
6. Third-party services
Authentication relies on Supabase and, when selected, GitHub. Payments and subscription management rely on Stripe. Their own terms and privacy policies also apply to their services. CodeBaobab is not responsible for a third-party service’s availability, security, or independent actions.
7. Plans and payments
The Free plan includes the portion of the curriculum identified on the pricing page. Pro Monthly renews each month at the price shown during Stripe Checkout until you cancel it. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period unless Stripe shows otherwise. Pro Yearly is charged once per year and renews annually at the price shown during Stripe Checkout until you cancel it. The monthly equivalent shown on the pricing page is a comparison only; it is not a monthly installment plan. Prices, currency, applicable taxes, and the amount due are shown before you authorize payment. Except where required by law or expressly stated otherwise, paid fees are non-refundable. Contact support@codebaobab.com if you believe a charge is incorrect.
8. Educational disclaimer
CodeBaobab is provided for education and practice. It does not guarantee interview performance, employment, certification, or any particular result. Solutions, complexity analyses, and explanations may contain errors; you should independently verify information when relying on it for an important decision.
9. Availability and termination
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service. We may restrict or terminate access when we reasonably believe these Terms have been violated, the service or another person is at risk, or the law requires it. You may stop using CodeBaobab at any time and may request account deletion by contacting us.
10. Disclaimers and liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of uninterrupted operation, accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. To the fullest extent permitted by law, CodeBaobab will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost data, opportunities, profits, or goodwill arising from use of the service. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or liability that cannot legally be excluded.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as the product or law changes. The revised version will be posted here with a new last-updated date. If a change is material, we will provide reasonable notice through the service when practical. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the revised Terms.
12. Governing law and contact
These Terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable there, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Questions about these Terms may be sent to support@codebaobab.com.
